FEED IN TARIFF UPDATE.

The current feed in tariff is 21p per kWh . This is due to be revised in July, probably down to 13p to 16.5p per kWh subject to further consultation. However the figure remains guaranteed and index linked for 25 years.
A new initiative is to request an Energy Performance Certificate, which must achieve Band D or better status to qualify for the full allowance. This can be provided by Solar Northern, usually at no cost.
Because the cost of arrays has reduced, return on capital of 10% is achievable on a 4 kW installation and a payback period of under 9 years.
